Bharatanatyam

Bharathanatyam is a dance form which makes use of the combination fo Bhava, raga, tala and natya. Origin of the Bharathanatyam is in Thanjavur of Tamil Nadu.

Mohiniyattam

The term Mohiniyattam comes from the words “Mohini” (meaning a woman who enchants onlookers) and “attam” (meaning graceful and sensuous body movements). The word “Mohiniyattam” literally means “dance of the enchantress”.

Kuchipudi

Kuchipudi derives its name from the village of Kuchelapuram, in Andhra Pradesh, India. As a classical form of dance, drama and music Kuchipudi enjoys a unique place among the Indian classical idioms.

Contemporary

It is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements

About Mrs. Kavitha Sunil

Kavitha Sunil has started her life as a dancer since the very childhood . Enough support from her parents made Kavitha a professional classical dancer. Initially acquired the cardinal knowledge from Padmasree Chemanchery Kunjiraman Nair and later excelled from Pookkad Kalalayam. She practiced Bharathanatyam and Kuchipudi with Kalamandalam Rebha where Mohiniyattam with Dr. Rajani Palakkal. While during her maternity days, she met with an accident and the backbone injury returns the doctor's verdict as 'NO MORE DANCE". Fortunately, the 'Will' inside her couldn't hold that for long days and she regained and hence the beginning of the "Rainbow Dance Academy”. Mastering in the classical as well as the contemporary dance for the past 30 years made her an excellent trainer in those dance forms.
